Solala Contest 2019
April 27, 2019 the fifth edition of the Solala Contest took place.
The six bands played in front of a concert hall that was sold out long in advance with more than 650 spectators.
The groups The children from the lake, GANZ, African vocals, 4ME and different, as a special guest, last year's audience winners were amazed! to the final out of competition.
For 30 minutes each, the groups showed the best of their repertoire so that the audience could enjoy it came from a total of six great a cappella shows in one evening.
For the first time in the history of the Solala Festival, a group took home both prizes. Both the from the Stadtsparkasse Solingen donated, endowed with 1000 € jury prize as well as the Audience award "The Golden Blade" won the group "different" and took Five blacksmith knives donated by the Güde company to Freiburg as a trophy.
As in previous years, the entire show was broadcast via webstream via YouTube and we had around 530 viewers on the Internet, up to 99 at the same time - not surprising: in addition to many German viewers, there were also many from Namibia, Austria, Australia and New Zealand. ; o) With now 3 camera perspectives and playback in HD quality, the festival can now also be followed perfectly at home. The 5 bands in the contest all put on convincing and entertaining shows and so it was not made easy for the audience and the jury to choose a favorite.
flabbergasted! as a crowd favorite of the previous year showed convincingly why it had taken the audience by storm last year and shone with musical precision and many a wink.
During the breaks and immediately afterwards, there was enthusiastic feedback from the audience in terms of band selection, organization, staging and structure.
The bands also confirmed that we had a great festival at which they felt very comfortable and well looked after.
