May 5, 2018  the fourth edition of the Solala Contest took place.

The six bands played in front of a concert hall that was sold out long in advance  with almost 650 spectators.

The groups Allegría, flabbergasted!  Beat Poetry Club, The Razzonesn and zwo3wir, last year's audience winner Piccanto appeared as special guests for the final, out of competition.

For 30 minutes each, the groups showed the best of their repertoire so that the audience could enjoy it  came from a total of six great a cappella shows in one evening.

The "Beat Poetry Club" group from Vienna / AUT won the jury prize, endowed with € 1000, donated by the Stadtsparkasse Solingen.

The audience award  "The Golden Blade" won  the group "baff!" from Lübeck and took  four forged knives donated by the Güde company to take home as a trophy.

Image and sound were transmitted to the foyer on large screens provided by expert Schultes, so that you didn't have to go without the program even on small trips to the counters.

As in the previous year, the entire show was web-streamed via YouTube and we had around 350 viewers on the Internet - a third of them from Austria. ; o) In terms of quality, we were able to significantly improve the transmission compared to the previous year.

The 5 bands in the contest all put on convincing and entertaining shows and so it was not made easy for the audience and the jury to choose a favorite.

The HörBänd, the audience favorites of the previous year, impressed in the finale musically, with humor and performance as the headliner of the evening and actually put the icing on the cake.

During the breaks and immediately afterwards, there was enthusiastic feedback from the audience in terms of band selection, organization, staging and structure.

The bands also certified that we had a great festival, at which they felt very comfortable and well cared for.
